Sean Van Dorn

Sean F. Van Dorn is an independent filmmaker with over 16 years of experience in the mass media industry. He holds a Bachelor of Mass Media Arts with a concentration in Radio/Television and Film from Clark Atlanta University. Sean’s goals as an educator and practitioner in the film and television industry is to help equip inspiring storytellers with the tools needed to bring their vision to life. As a college student, Sean has worked as a journalist for the, Amsterdam News, and the Southeast Queens Press, two prominent African American weeklies in New York City. He also, interned for producers Rob Hardy, Will Packer and Dianne Ashford at Rainforest Films in Atlanta while attending school. After college Sean began working in the industry as a freelance production assistant and key grip for music videos, independent films, nationally televised shows, live concerts and events before settling into corporate America as a Media Specialist at Grady Health System and Delta Air Lines. Sean’s knowledge of media spans every discipline from print journalism, public relations to film and television production. Other major media outlets, actors and actresses Sean has had the opportunity to work with over the years are, American Idol, The Learning Channel, Kelly Price, Jenelle Monáe, Vivica A. Fox and Shemar Moore just to name a few. Currently, Sean runs and operates his own production company KIC IT Films, which he produces, writes and directs independent film and television productions. He is also a full-time Film Instructor at Southern Crescent Technical College’s Film program in Griffin, Georgia.
